Brionna Rapping

Jake's cousin, McKenzie has a boyfriend who is a rapper (a very talented one, at that!) He was on stage and asked her to marry him and they were able to video tape it. Brionna LOVES to listen to it. She wants me to play it over and over and over. I was kind of surprised that she didn't get up to dance but she was eating her after nap snack so she might have been a little tired.

Sleeping Beauty

I just love this baby girl! She's growing up so fast, she wants a radio on beside her and she wants to sleep in the big bed now. What a little angel.

Precious Marygrace

I miss seeing cute little Marygrace. I talked to Mikala and got to hear her giggle and make sweet baby sounds. I can't wait to see her again.

More Build a Bear

More Build a Bear

More pictures from Build a Bear

The Boy's at Build a Bear

While the little boys were here in January we took them to Build a Bear and let them build their own stuffed animal. I think they had a lot of fun. They walked around and shopped for just the right stuffed animal, then they picked some stuffing out of the stuffing bin. They then stuffed lots of hugs and kisses inside and promised to love it. There is a machine kind of like a big backwards vacumn cleaner that put the stuffing in the animals. They each picked out clothes for their animal, Vaughn picked out Santa Clause clothes for his little bunny and Elston picked out baseball player clothes for his little dog. Emily, Mikala and I had a lot of fun watching them. Linden was asleep in his stroller and Emily was with him. (she's his new best friend! he LOVES her!) Marygrace was snug in her baby bjorn. Good memories! I love those little guys.

Hercules

I really like this kitty cat! He's like my watchdog, except he's a cat. He's very protective.

Randy and Emily are going to Europe

Randy and Emily are going to visit Mikala and family in May, May 10th to May 24th. Mikala and Jake, tell the little boys that I'm sending money for each one of them to get a soccer jersey in Brugge. I still regret not getting everyone a soccer jersey, I just didn't realize what a good deal I had run into in that little tourist shop. I'm excited for everyone. Ummmmm, Belgium waffles, yuummmm, belgium chocolates, yummmm, my belgium family. I know everyone is going to have a wonderful time and Jake is the best tourist guide in the world and Mikala is the best hostess in the world.

Bradyen doesn't always play video games!

Contrary to popular belief, Brayden does do other things at our house! This morning, he grabbed a book and was reading it, he's reading The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. He checked it out on Thursday and he's already on page 229. He's explained to book to me but I'll have to get him to explain it, it's about Zeus and Cyclopes and Poseidon.

Brayden's Hermit Crabs

Brayden got 3 hermit crabs for Christmas, they've been fun to watch, sometimes a little boring, but we're learning tricks to get them to become active. They (Julia and Brayden) acquired 2 more crabs the week after Christmas so they now have 5 crabs in 2 different terrariums. A few weeks ago we gave them a bath and the next day one of the bigger crabs had destroyed his water sponge so I put a bowl of water in with them, we decided to leave it in there, even tho I wondered if they ever noticed it. This morning when I got up, I heard noise in the kitchen and looked at them, the soccer ball crab was drinking out of the bowl. I took his picture and I was afraid it made him mad because he backed up and moved over to the happy face crab and was pushing him. I took out the empty shell we had put in the cage for them to get into if they wanted to and moved the happy face crab and he quickly moved over to the soccer ball crab and tried to climb on his back. I don't understand crabs, I don't know if they're friends or not but I think they were playing with each other.

Happy Birthday to Mikala

Happy Birthday Mikala! I hope you are having a wonderful birthday!

Randy's Birthday!

Yesterday, January 25th was Randy's birthday. We celebrated at a new restaurant between Amarillo and Canyon called Chili Willie's. We arrived right at 6pm and still had to wait about a hour and a half for a table but it was definitely worth the wait! Julia, Brayden and Brionna met us there, Dollie and Pat were also there, then of course, Randy and Emily, for a total of 9 people. Most of us had chicken fried steaks, some with jalepenos, some with green chili and some us just had plain chicken fries. We then came back to our house for birthday cake and ice cream. Brionna was especially excited and Randy let her blow out his birthday candles. After everyone left and Brionna was ready for bed, I told her to give everyone a good night kiss and she disappeared, I peeked in the bedroom and she had turned on the lamp beside the bed, turned on the radio and was in bed listening to Brayden's I-Pod. She had put herself to bed and had taken care of all the necessary things! It was just a funny site. I told her I will still tuck her in and give her a good night kiss, she doesn't have to tuck herself in!

Our European Trip

Dick and I went to Europe in October for the birth of Marygrace Autumn Miller. We had so much fun, I can't even begin to tell everything that we did! The best part about our trip was spending time with family. I enjoyed our time with everyone, Jake, Mikala, Elston, Vaughn, Linden and then little Marygrace when she arrived. It was wonderful seeing where the boys go to school, it was wonderful seeing where Jake works and visiting their Church. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We visited so many places and did so many wonderful things! I feel like it was a trip of a lifetime---but since Jake and Mikala live in Belgium-----we'll be back! We went to Paris! That is almost like being in another world! It is so rich in history and has so many things to see and do. The next time we visit, we'll plan on spending several days there. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower! I felt like I could see forever! We had a wonderful trip to Brugge, Belgium, again, I felt like I was in another world! Brugge is called "little Italy" we took a trip on a tour boat in some of the canals through the city. I will post some pictures! We did so many things that I'll have to list them later! The food was just out of this world! All I can say is WOW and we'll be back!!!!

Our Christmas

We were so blessed to have Jake, Mikala and our little Belgium grandchildren visit us for the Christmas holidays. The weather was cold and windy, I wish it could have been nicer so Jake could have golfed more but the weather in the Texas Panhandle is unpredictable, it could have been beautiful---but it was pretty cold and blustery the entire time they were here. We enjoyed great food, we visited several great restaurants plus Dick fixed us some great meals. We celebrated Linden's early birthday at Jorges where they sang Happy Birthday to him. He was adorable, he was shy and I think it embarrassed him! Before Christmas we made a trip to the mall with Elston, Vaughn, Brionna, Linden and Marygrace for a visit to see Santa. They boys asked for hot wheel cars and Brionna wanted presents. It was a fun trip going to the mall with all the little kiddos. Julia was there and we enjoyed a great lunch at Chick Filet---yum yum! Mikala and Jake were able to get a lot of things accomplished that are difficult to accomplish in Belgium. (dentist trips, eye appts., some shopping, etc) Marygrace was just the highlight of our life! She's so adorable, so beautiful and just so perfect! Oh---I miss her so much! Elston has grown up to be such a sweet, considerate and smart little boy! He is really quite fluent in French (I overheard him talking to his daddy in French) I've tried to learn some French this year and he was able to help me with my very limited French (VERY LIMITED!) I love Elston so much, he's a little sweetheart! Vaughn, oh, again a little sweetheart! He's so sweet and such a happy little boy, he was so helpful, he would help me do everything! I vacumned, he was helping me. I started making Linden a birthday cake---quiet little Vaughn just came in and asked to help and he finished it for me! He is sweet to his brothers and to his little sister. He is a big helper boy! I love him so much! Brionna talks about her "Vaughnie" all the time! I think they "bonded"!!! Now, little Linden! He is a little rock star! Everyone loves this little guy! He is gushing with personality! He is an absolute sweetheart and he is the sweetest little guy! He is so caring about his little sister, he comforts her when she's crying. He decided that his favorite people were Emily and Julia! He would cry and cry when they would leave! He would hug them and hug them and lay his little head on their shoulder----oh, how could they leave him????? I love that sweet little guy so much! Marygrace Autumn----she's an absolute doll baby! Beautiful, happy and such a little sweetheart. She was just starting her big smiles while she was here and we got some delightful smiles out of her! She is so tiny! We had a lot of fun playing dress up with her! She's got some of the most beautiful clothes I've ever seen! Girls are definitely fun to dress---and buy for! Brayden loved being the big cousin, he loves his cousins and had been looking forward to playing with them for months. Brionna was soooooooo excited to have playmates. I think the kids played with each other so well, you wouldn't realize that they live across the world and only see each other once a year. I'm hoping that the kiddos can get together a little more frequently----hint hint!
Jake and Mikala brought over so many Belgium goodies! I've tried to ration my candy out so it wouldn't be gone so fast, it's so delicious. We just enjoyed their visit so much and I'm praying that we can see them again soon! I love my Belgium family with all my heart!
